NSS 75th Anniversary Convention

Private Pilot Details

Several years ago, when we started planning a convention in Ely, Nevada, the FAA offered subsidized commercial flights into the local airport as part of the Essential Air Service program. Unfortunately, that subsidy was lost during recent government cutbacks. As such, there is currently no commercial air service into Ely by any national carrier.

However, Ely's airport is still fully functional and still capable of receiving private aircraft. We know that many cavers operate their own aircraft and we want to make it easy for you to fly into town for the 75th anniversary convention.

If this applies to you, please let us know! Some hotels offer shuttle service to the airport, otherwise, the convention team will gladly arrange ground transport for you from the airport to either the downtown hotel district or to the official convention campground. But, we need to know well in advance.
